About the course

This short course introduces both traditional revenue strategies (ex. earned income, donor cultivation, collaborative funding) and community-rooted approaches drawn from Indigenous, Afro-diasporic, and Global South traditions — including Potlatch, Harambee, mutual aid circles, and more. You'll leave with tools, frameworks, and a plan to diversify sustainably. The course includes practical tools and resources to build capacity and sustainable practices. You will have access to a practical grant management tracker, a grant pipeline and funding dashboard specifically designed for non-profits in Canada, and practical examples for moving beyond traditional, western-based funding and towards sustainable financial models.
